Join us at Belews Park in Rockingham County for a trail-building workday!

Volunteers will mainly focus on creating a 'finished' or 'groomed' trail. This means that we will be using various garden tools to cut extra roots, grade the surface, and pack it down for the most sustainable trail. Volunteers are also needed to do a cleanup as needed. You do not need any landscaping or trail-building experience.

You are welcome to volunteer during the entire event, but if you can only give a portion of the time, you are still welcome!

When you arrive at the site, please park on the side of the road on Stanley Road close to the gate. Parking is limited, carpooling is advised.

Be sure to wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and prepare to get VERY dirty. A long-sleeved shirt is advised.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • If you have tools such as a hand saw, loppers, a hoe, and a rake, please bring them!
  • Work gloves are recommended. Bring your own or DRBA will provide it if needed.
  • Water to drink
  • Your enthusiasm and great energy

If you would like to attend, please email Anna Wheeler, NC Program Coordinator, at awheeler@danriver.org
