VCN TO HOST URANIUM MINING DOCUMENTARY HOT WATER
November 12, 2013
Join us and watch the uranium mining documentary Hot Water
Dear Dan River Basin Association,
Uranium mining proponents are waging a battle to repeal Virginia's 30-year ban on uranium mining. HOT WATER, which explores the contamination of the ground water, air, and soil of the American Southwest with some of the most toxic substances known to man due to the mining of uranium, is a harrowing preview of what could be in store for Virginia if the ban is lifted.
With the water supply of roughly 1.2 million people at stake, filmmakers Lizabeth Rogers and Kevin Flint traveled to Virginia to film the fight of citizens to defend their homes for a special extended version of the film.
Be sure to come out early and meet the producers. For more information on uranium mining in Virginia, visit www.keeptheban.org.
