Objective:

Keeping it Clean
Objective:
- Students will use the engineering process to design and build their own river cleaning device
- To make students aware that human activities can impact the health of a watershed system
- To make students understand that non-renewable resources can be managed

Green Campus Initiatives
Objective:
- Bring awareness to students about their daily choices that impact the environment
- Create an environmentally-conscious philosophy at the school

Streamside Trees in the Classroom
Objective:
- Students will root Black Willow trees cuttings in the classroom
- Students will investigate and understand the parts of a tree
- Students will investigate and understand that humans impact the environment
- Students will learn about the importance of streamside vegetation and water quality

Trout in the Classroom
Objective:
- Students will experience the trout life cycle from eggs to fingerlings
- Students will monitor water quality of the trout tank through various parameters
- Students will investigate and understand that humans impact the environment
- Engage in stream habitat and ecosystem studies
- Appreciate water resources and foster a conservation ethic

Water Quality Testing
Objective:
- Students will learn to monitor water quality by using various parameters for testing including temperature, turbidity, recording rainfall, weather observations, and visual assessment
- Students will investigate and understand that human activities affect the health of the watershed
- The student will investigate and understand that humans impact the environment and that major health and safety issues are associated with water quality
